KAAAC invites you to join the coalition for their monthly meetings. The group has become a home for survivors on their journeys with cancer, moving from their personal experiences to becoming ambassadors to promote cancer screening for early detection among underserved residents in Metro Louisville. Programs are designed to help patients cope with diagnosis and treatment and to lead them into recovery as survivors and advocates to support others. Educational programs about cancer prevention and screenings are also offered along with culturally rooted, fun events. Friends and families are welcome to attend to support their loved ones and to volunteer for the many programs throughout the year. For more information, call KCP, (502) 852-6318.
Tax deductible contributions can be via KAAAC link or sending a check to KAAAC, 501 E. Broadway, Suite 160, Louisville, KY 40202.

KCP and Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana have forged a partnership to serve residents of West Louisville. The Republic Bank Foundation YMCA, 1720 West Broadway, is home to the club to provide educational programs, support services, and special events for the community. The location allows Gilda’s Club to expand their programs for cancer patients and families to this underserved population in collaboration with the Kentucky African Americans Against Cancer. For more information, call (502) 371-3044. Â
Every October, survivors look forward to the popular Sista Strut, an annual fundraiser nationally sponsored by iHeart Radio. Designed to raise breast cancer awareness among African Americans, participants show up in pink tutus to celebrate the occasion. KAAAC is not only awarded proceeds from this event to support community outreach programs but is also given the opportunity to disseminate information and appear in the media to promote breast cancer screening.
Members of the Porter family, Sharon Robinson and Marie Porter joined artists, Sandra Charles, and Elmer Lucille Allan when a painting was presented to the community. It was installed at Gilda's Club West in memory of Harriett B. Porter and her dedicated efforts to support newly diagnosed patients. Funds for the Endowment support many outreach programs.
